Stolen tail gates
Has anyone here ever had his pickup truck tail gate stolen. I just purchased a brand new Ranger. I found a very good way to secure the tail gate, to make it theft-proof.
All truck gates are removable simply by first unlatching the two cables and then pulling off the gate at an angle of 45 degree backward. I was told a Ranger gate and accessories cost around $600 plus paint.
Here is the simple way to surprise a thief, roll a hose clip around the right bracket making sure to screw the clip from under the closed gate. No use tightening too much, just snug is OK.
Cost: $1.69 and you sleep well.
