Default Temperature sensor location

Hi folks,

I have a '93 2.3l Ranger, and I need to change the temperature gauge sensor. According to what I've read, it's located on the left side of the engine (driver's side) near the oil pressure sensor.

Now, the BIG question is : I can't see it, so I'm wondering if anyone has a trick on how to replace it. My first thought was to pull the intake manifold, but that seems like a HUGE pain.

Any ideas?

Should be just under the intake manifold at rear of engine. Should be pretty easy with removal of oil filter from underneath truck.
