Default 2004 Sport Trac 4.0

Hey All! I'm looking at 2004 Sport Trac with a 4.0 V6 with 140,000 miles on it. The engine runs very smooth. It has had the thermostat housing replaced. When you let the engine idle with the hood up, you don't see it, but you can smell burnt oil and the the sweet smell of coolant. It is too bad, as the body and interior of this vehicle is very good. Any ideas what is going on with the engine or what to look for? Thanks in advance!!
