Default engine replacement info

Good morning to all, hope everything is going well this fine morn! My online handle is woody.
Have a motor fit question for my 03 v6 4.0L 2wd rwd auto trans 4 door sport trac, 8 digit E. What year model engines will ( with few modifications) will interchange with mine.
Was running @ 70 mph down interstate and engine lost power a few times then just died, no noise no smoke no lock up. Pretty sure from my other research that one of the timing chains broke. have been told engine will be toast, pistons, rods, heads, and so on.
Info on replacement engines would be appreciated.

Thank you, woody woodseyes

Thumbs up

Welcome to the site Woody,

The loosing power a few times,, many reasons it could have lost power. I'd comp test the engine before any wrench bending. How many miles on the clock?
