Default 1990 taurus

i changed my spark plugs and wires on my ford taurus and now it has less power and runs a little rough. its this simply because i gaped the plugs improperly or hooked the wires up in the wrong sequence? i could have easily made one of these mistakes. i gaped the plugs at .44, to the best my ability seeing how ive never done it before

I am sure you meant .044 for plug gap. can you provide an engine size. it is very likely you either have a wire not fully seated on the plug or a couple of them crossed.

did you lower the plugs into their holes with a plug wrench? i have seen a few times where first timers would drop them into place thereby closing the gap or cracking the ceramic.

can provide you routing information once we know the engine
