If you removed the trans and disassembled it and drained the converter you could get close to 12+ quarts, but if you are planning to just change the filter and the fluid that comes out when dropping the trans pan you will only get about 4-6 quarts.
They might claim to get 12 qts with a trans flush, but that would be like opening Pandora's box because the age and mileage , in my opinion, (IMO) would be looking for problems.

Dear hanky,

The color of my trans. Fluid is light brown and does not smell burnt. The consistency of the fluid is the same as new red fluid. When the temp. Of eng. Go's under the half way mark on the temp. Gauge and stays there the trans. Starts sliping going into the upper gears. Would it be ok to just drain the the pan, replace the filter and put in 32 oz. of Rislone Trans. Stop Slip with Leak Repair also 4 or 5 qts. of new fluid with the old light brown fluid ?
Would doing this be a good fix for the trans. Operation and stop the sliping ?

***** thank your help and quick reply,

I t might help temporarily, but I think there is an underlying problem that should be diagnosed by an experienced shop. There are several reasons for the trans to slip in the upper gears and to try to answer your questions would not be a good idea without additional tests.
