Question 2003 ford Taurus sel Running rough/Stalling

When I come to a stop the car seems to shake, not violently, but noticeably and sometimes it almost stalls, but has only actually stalled once. I have recently changed the fuel filter when notcied this, and the old one I removed had pretty dirty gas pouring out of it, it seemed to run smoother but only for a day or so. Also the guy I just bought it from replaced the IAC (idle air control valve) in it because of the shaking. Any Help Out There?????

One of the things you could try would be to change the filter again and if a lot of junk comes out, there may be a problem with a lot of junk in the tank.

Maybe also want to look at the spark plugs. Could be a cylinder misfire. Also possibly a dirty air filter.

could be the 'low idle pick-up sensor', had a 99 Taurus that would stall, after 2 mo. took it in and shop replaced a batch of sensors. finally got the engine warning light to go out. it was approx.$700.00 worth of shop time and a bunch of sensors. Car runs like a top now, for over 250,000 mi on the ol' girl so i'm not complaining.
