Default 2004 Ford Taurus low oil light and won’t start sometimes

I’m thinking it’s the oil sending unit but why won’t it start is there a safety feature that makes it not start or what would be the problem? I’m stumped

To my knowledge the oil pressure sensor has nothing to do with vehicle starting.
Do you have any fault codes.

Try some starting fluid to see if the engine attempts to start which may indicate a fuel issue. Checking for spark would be next.

Hi Ozzi,
Do you have any starting fluid to use and do you know how to check for spark ?
Can you remove a spark plug ?

If any of the above is a NO, we are whistling in the wind.

About 2 weeks ago someone syphoned the gas we had in the tank then we put a locking gas cap on it and to tell you the truth that’s when the trouble started

So we understand exactly what is /is not happening.

When you say it won't start, what does it do if anything?
Starter does or does not crank the engine over ,but it just will not start running, or when you go to start it, it does nothing.

A little info here, what brought on the need for the different gas cap ?

Can we ask ,, when you purchased fuel did you always top it off until it wouldn't take anymore"?

Were you able to have your vehicle checked for codes in the vehicle computer ?

Wondering about the fuel pump driver module.

Well when it won’t start it just cranks and won’t catch and the reason why we got a different gas caps because someone siphoned off our gas So we put a new gas cap on it and I have not been able to check my codes on the computer we don’t have an OBD two scanner and yes we topped it off in certain until I couldn’t take anymore

OK so it cranks but does not start and the reason why we got a gas cap is because our gas was siphoned off by someone and yes we top off the fuel and she’ll it wouldn’t take any more because the gas gauge doesn’t work anyway and no I don’t have any place to take to get to know scam codes so anything help sir appreciate itOh and it starts about after three or four hours

I will throw this out and without proving it , it is only speculation.

As you will know, when we keep filling the gas tank until it will not take anymore we do bad things.
There is a vent valve to allow air containing gas vapors built up when fueling and running to be collected in a charcoal canister so they don't go out into the surrounding air..
When certain conditions are met, those vapors are taken into the engine and burned. That charcoal in the canister is intended to collect only gas vapors and not liquid which will destroy the canister function by sending charcoal granules into the lines to be burned and plugs them. The Purge valve gets full of this stuff and goes the way of the canister. So as you can see the can of worms is alive and well.
To verify and correct , if necessary, will require checking all of the system.
If I missed anything, please let's help this guy out, thanks.
