Hello all

I have a 92 taurus that when I drive it any distance I lose power and the engine floods, doesnt stop running but you can here the intake pop as it is trying to fire off the exrta fuel that has been dumped into it.

I replaced the TPS and have checked/replaced the vacume lines and checked my coilbut it still does it.

I drive to work everyday, lesss than 3-4 miles and I have no problems with it but I go get my kids who live 21 miles away or drive it for any long period it starts again the odb1 codes say maf sensor now but it said TPS before, any ideas before I spen 100 dollors on a maf sensor?

oh and can I check the codes without the scanner, like key on key off 5 times then return to on and the check engine light will blink the code so I dont have to keep going and picking up the code reader from work? This would be most helpful to know.
