99 taurus Doorlock problem

I have a 99 taurus and i'm having problems with the Drivers side rear door lock not working. Has anyone heard of any common problems with these? Also happens with a friends 97 Taurus. Any help would be great!

yes you see it often it is most likely the lock acuator

Would this also cause the dome light not to work when it's cold out?
