bad neutral lockout switch
i have a 96' taurus that used to only start in between park and reverse and sometimes between neutral and drive and one day it just wouldnt start at all. so i took it to a transmission repair shop to have the lockout switch replaced well yesterday i picked up the car and was told that the car starts now but you have to put it in neutral to start i do and it starts with no problems
on the way home i stopped at a friends to have lunch and when i was leaving the car would not start so we popped hood and looked at the neutral switch and saw that it hadnt been replaced afterall and it appeared to be tampered with. i need to get the car started is there any way to bypass the lockout switch or to start the car with out it?
