Default blower motor woes

I have a 2007 taurus and the blower motor only works in high. I figure it is the switch. Can y ou replace just the switch or do I h ave to replace the whole temp control panel?

If it is just working on high, the blower resistor is probably the problem. When they burn out, they default to the high blower setting.

Smile 99 taurus blower motor

Thanks for the heads up Way to old, i'm having the same issue and you confirmed my suspicion. You, as always, have been a great help. Have you had any issues with the blower motor resistors from the parts discount stores or do you always use OEM in your shop.

If it is doing the same thing (only working on high) it is possible the resistor has burned out again. If it does not work at all, first look at the fuses and then the switch. Check the connection also to be sure there are not any burned wires inside the connector.

cutiepiereading, we use Motorcraft parts obtained from an aftermarket supplier. We have not had any problems with any of those. of course Motorcraft is Ford's aftermarket part.
