Default this car is old tech but trouble free

2006 taurus, 182 000 kilometers and now for the first time since we bought the car in 2008...the mil has come on.

In that time I have had one restraint code and one no start from a bad battery. Have $2500 in maintenance work, tires, brakes, fluids. Pretty amazing, reliable automobile.

I will post the code on Monday.

Hi hanky.

I been working for fca. Trying to get up to speed; trolling the dodge forums helps to "familiarize" me with the new brand.

the code is:
p2270 02 sensor stuck lean b1s2
read through some pinpoint diagnostics today...will perform some tests next weekend...probably just a worn out sensor.

Its $35 for a new sensor...Isn't old technology great...a new wideband sensor would be 4x the price. Almost not worth doing diagnostics...if i had to pay 140hr for diagnosis...I would do a quick visual then just throw a part at it.

We're just having fun with this stuff, but quite a bit of it has been out a few years now.
The vehicle stops faster than you can if it senses something getting too close, lane departure, parking aids, etc. I can't wait to when my vehicle tells me where to go ,then what do I do?

it is pretty amazing techology...until it breaks. In 10 years time, it will become a standard feature...just like abs is today.

last winter replaced the blind spot monitoring sonar sensors on chrysler 300. both sensors/modules were filled with green death/corrosion...cost to replace both sensors $3400 just for parts.

Today my old taurus; just keeps fixing itself. the b1s2 02 is switching normally and passing the i/m monitor. May have to take it on a long drive, like the one it had when the code set.
