Now this is a good example of just how badly oil soaked these starters get in the 3.0l 12v engines. This one was to the point of barley contacting causing a very slow crank just like a weak battery. Point being be vigilant on your oil leaks and cleaning up or covering your starter during oil changes or this can happen. This concern is very easily misdiagnosed by shops that are less familiar with this design.
