emision light
I have a 2002 taurus with only 40,000 miles. I bought it about a month ago. My emission light (check engine) came on about a week ago. I ran the code and pulled up code P1132 and P1152 and the computer stated manufacturers control, fuel air metering. The car has been ideling rough especially at stop lights when I'm just getting started in the morning. It also seems like I am getting horible gas milage, though this may be my imagination due to these ridiculouse gas prices. Any ideas on what this is so I can tell my boyfriend and he can fix it for me?????
thank jennifer

Seems to me like the fuel pressure is too high. If you can get a fuel pressure gauge on it, check the pressure. It should be around 32 psi running.

thanks - does bank number 1 and 2 mean which sensor it is, cause apperently my car has 4 o2 sensors. also If i find the fuel pressure is too high how do I fix the problem. replace the sensors? or something else. do you think I can get (or rent) the fuel pressure gauge at a place like Autozone and what would the gauge hook up to. thanks jen
Sorry for the delay in response. Been away. bank 1 is the side closest to the firewall, bank 2 is closest to the front of the car. Sensor 1 for each is in front of the converter, and sensor 2 for each is behind the converter on its respective side.
You can probably rent a gauge and it hooks up to the fuel rail in the front top of engine on the passenger side. It will look lile a little metal valve stem on your wheels. It should have a small plastic cap on it that looks like a cap on the valve stem.
Again, sorry about the delay in posting back. Any more questions, post them here.
