Default how do i get this Y pipe off this car?

i have a 99 taurus lx sohc and i cannot see how in the hell im gonna get this rear downpipe undone.. how is this achived? any and all info would be greatly appriciated.. (working on this thing outside doing an oil pan brrrrrrrr)

They come off fairly easy? Remove the 4 nuts holding the flanges to exhaust manifolds. unclip the o2 sensors. should have 1 bracket bolted around cat converters, The connection btwn converter and midpipe may need bolts cut or ground of with angle grinder/torch and replaced, and viola. For wha it is worth my shop only charges around $300 parts and labor for that repair. Pretty hard on your back in driveway IMO.

just space is really limited, and the bolts will not budge.. do i need a claw type openend, or is there some sort of special designed thing i could use on these rear bolts?

Always been able to get at them with long extension and wobble socket, usually run a torch across the nead of nut long enough to help loosen a little.

sounds good. i will give it a shot once i go pick up a swivel socket.. thanks for the input guys, and ill keep ya posted on the outcome.

alright we got it taken care off. just took off the manifold and got it that way.. gave enough room to drop it. thanks for the pointers guys.
