intermittant start issue. sometimes i turn the key and its dead dead dead, nothing. you turn five six seven eight times and finally it starts normal and its fine for weeks at a time. changed the starter, battery wires and neutral switch. dealer is stumped. 97 taurus nice car ran great for a decade. any ideas. help

 

I would try the ignition switch on the lower steering collum.

my mechanic is saying the cause of this is a bad motor mount. is this possible.....im lost.

 

I dont see how it has nothing to do with the electrical system. It is ether the startar relay or ignition switch.

 

believe it or not two motor mounts were really shot and so i changed them. im not sure what effect this will have on the car. just got it back.

 

Let me know if that worked cause i dont see why it would.But am interested.

 

so far its fine. very very very s trange. mechanic says he has seen this in this car. when the motor mounts are messed up the motor moves and causes problems with various systems. since the two bad mounts on the passenger side h ave been changed its been ok but its only a day so far. ill update you after a few more days. very very very weird.
