Awww man no heat or a/c in my taurus now. Rear window defrosts. interior winshield defrosts slowly. Dealer says it is a 100 just for diagnostic tests. No clue except i small pop was heard and a tuft of white smoke came from one of the vents above the radio. Please help

 

Usually a fuse or breaker-fuse blows to keep anything from overloading and smoking. It sounds like you overloaded it - fuses usually don't smoke bad. Did you have the fan speed on high with the vents closed? (This would heat up the wiring). If you smelled plastic burning - you may want to get it fixed fast. Overloaded wires can burn off their plastic casing and catch on fire by throwing sparks to grounds. Keep the AC/heat off and fix it or you may want to start carrying a wrench (to undo the battery cables) and a fire extinguisher.

 

Thanks. It wasn't a lot of smoke. Just a thin tuft of white smoke. I'll be taking it in!
