Default Old scared women

The politically correct limp wristed morons have taken over Ford. I cannot find out from them what the top speed of the new 3.5 Taurus is. Also no one viewing this forum knows. However I have to vote with my feet and since Ford is now wearing a dress with heels to appeal to the neutered, I am purchasing the new Mitsubishi Lancer. They are now cowering under their desks, afraid to discuss top speed in fear that I might try to attempt it. Women are terrific people but they have taken over Ford Motors. Must be hard to sell one when you are busy applying make up in the men's room. Besides Mitsubishi won't make me wear a helmet to look at a Lancer for fear I might fall in the parking lot. I know that criticizing the gay community is politically incorrect but when they control a car company and thinl I am a fool, it's time to move on to another relationship.

You don't need to know the top speed of a sedan. What does it do for you?

Also, they may not be allowed to disclose that info by rules and laws regulating them.

Enjoy your p.o.s. Lancer.

OK. We understand you have a problem with anyone but whomever agrees with you. To follow up on Bullitt94's post, how often are you going to drive the vehicle at top speed? Are you gonna outrun the Po-Po??? Just remember, they have Motorolas. They have a lot higher top end than the vehicle you will drive. BTW, do you know the speed of sound? I hope you enjoy whatever vehicle you choose, but I doubt you can enjoy it. Maybe you can build your own race track and see how fast it will run??? Be a trest driver for them. Not gonna post a reply to your poll as there is not enough viable options to describe the people that are leading all the auto manufacturers. Have fun.

Since the stock tire has a service rating of 95T which gives the tire a speed rating of 118 MPH. Optional OEM tires have a service rating of 97H which gives that tire a speed rating or 130 MPH. Pretty much "ALL" vehicles sold has a speed limiter. I suspect your top speed will be about 100 MPH, +-2 MPH since that is where most manufactures set their speed limiters. One could put a 75 series tire on the vehicle and go up to 6% faster.

Despite elkriverscott's poor argumentative skills, he does have a legitimate point in questioning why Ford won't release top speed info.

The argument skills are designed on purpose to elicit a response from the deep thinkers of the world. You'll notice that no one is able to answer the question. Knowing the top speed has nothing to do with how fast I drive. As a matter of fact I never ever speed, using my cruise at any speed limit of 25 mph or more. Not needing to know the top end is fine for the nanny state crowd. They are better off being shielded from answers that make them afraid.

One more thing... How about we give all speed limit signs a transponder that only allows you car to drive it's stated speed? That would keep everyone happy. You don't need to know the top speed or know anything else that we don't want you to know. Better you are ignorant. BACK to the question.... WHAT IS THE TOP SPEED? You cannot pretend you aren't ignorant if you don't know. Not needing information is condescending and fine if you are a child, but you still don't know, do you? What's the answer, genius? You can talk all around your ignorance but unless you have an answer you should save your social engineering for the P C crowd, they'll talk in circles but can't answer a simple question. Pity. One more time, if you actually know, please tell me and save the old scared woman babble.

So now you don't want to discuss the poll question...?

I don't know what the max speed for the standard 3.5 in the 2010 model is, but Ford said the SHO will be 131mph per the Car and Driver web site. Don't know if that will tranlate the same to the standard 3.5; they did not yet test the 2010 model.

Thank you Bullit94. Nice to know what the SHO will do. I've owned five crown vics and two windstars and three rangers and now a taurus but can not give my money to the politically correct nannies at ford because they think people are stupid. Car and Driver seems like the magazine right up my alley. Surprising that a French owned magazine would be reckless enough to reveal top end. I believe the taurus is a better car than the Mitsubishi Ralliart but while it pains me to not buy another ford, they have decided to imply that this secret information cannot be revealed. They are eager to tell the police buyers about the crown vic, but since no one so far has been able to tell me the 2008 and newer top end, it looks like we've all been dumbed down.

Went to Car and Driver, A FINE FRENCH MAGAZINE, and discovered it tops out at 111 mph. The SHO has a twin turbo and I'd really really like to buy one however the Lancer Ralliart is my second choice and they have not been dumbed down. End of an era, boys and girls, even Ford has turned PC. You all have a good life, I wish you good luck.
