rodger lock up converter
i have 2001 taurus with 163000 miles when driving up a grade it seems like it tries to shift up and down or as if the converter isnt locking it has been doing this for a long time

The torque converter clutch usually lockes uo around 35-40 MPH. Is there any way you can see if the computer has any trans codes in it? If you are near an Auto Zone they may get them ,if any, at no cost from what I have learned here.
If there are any trans codes we might save some time and trouble trying to determine if there is actually a trans problem.
