Slow to move into 5th gear
I have a 98 Taurus wagon with auto tranny that is slow getting into 4th (top) gear. It takes about 20 mins from cold before 4th gear kicks in and it drops the RPMs from 3800 to 1800.
Driving in 3rd is killing my gas milage.
Any ideas? I do have a Service Engine light on but it is sending the code for the TR Sensor.
BTW: not sure if the 98 SW is 4 or 5 gears.
