2oo1 Taurus left side bulb. I believe I go behind trunk cover and have to remove the three nuts on the long screws to pull assembly off car to change bulb.
I cant believe you cannot pull it out the rear of assembly .
I hope iam on the right track for replacing bulb I believe is a 3157
Any help would be appreciated

You mean the bulb would come out of the connector, or the bulb & connector will not come out of the tail light housing?

The connector should be a quarter turn and pop right out , I believe the bulb pulls right out of the connector, if not try a gentle 1/4 turn.

 

Your are on the right track..

Remove the 3 nuts and pull the assembly out.. The Stop/Tail/Brake is 3157..
