Taurus/Sable 2-3 Shift Problems
2005 Sable just operates in first, park, N and R. When it goes to shift from 2nd to D nothing engages and engine revs. If left in 1st position, it is fine but, of course stays in first. If in D or OD, it starts of normally with no slipping but just revs when shifting from 2nd to D. Car must come to a complete stop again before it will go again in 1st. I never had a problem at all with shifting or slipping. This just happened all at once. The only thing it would do strange on occasion is slightly accelerate when I left off the pedal. I have been reading some forums and the VSS seems to be a problem and sometimes the TSS. Since it is a 05, it doesn't have a VSS on tranny but integrated into ABS system. There is no speedometer problems. The fluid is in good shape but will change if I drop the pan. The pump seems to be working fine. It has a high level when engine is off and goes to normal range in park. I have the Shift Solenoid harness unplugged and I am trying to test those components. I can't seem to find a pin layout for this connector or the values I should be getting. I would also like to find and electrical and/or parts diagram for the 2005 AX4N. They want $75 to do an initial scan for codes which will probably lead to further testing according to the Ford service manager. I cannot afford the labor fees right now. I am pretty mechanically inclined and good with a multimeter being an electronics technician so I can do electrical testing if I know what and where to test. Included is a pic of 9 pin connector I want to test next. Also, what is it in the 2nd pic? It is below the #2 Cylinder (center firewall side)?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
