Default Tire Help

Good day all! I heard bits and pieces, on a radio auto show, about tire replacement. From what I could hear, they said that you could go up or down in size with no problem. My Taurus had 215/60R16. Can I go down? If so, how much can I go down and is there any benefit or loss?

Thanks

If all the tires are changed to the same size, you will change the speedometer reading and can affect fuel mileage. If only 2 tires are replaced, you can alsosffect the ABS system if vehicle is equipped. I would stay with the recommended size.
