Default 2008 Crown Victoria Spare tire help

I need to get a spare tire for a 2008 crown Victoria which was a police vehicle. The rims and tire on vehicle are 17 inch steel and so is the tire in the trunk. I need to get a compact spare tire for this vehicle which I believe is 145-80-16, but I did pick up a 125-80-16 compact spare for a early model which does not fit, it rubs on the front brake caliper. Question is does the newer model spare tire rim different and how can I tell if a spare tire rim will fit? I do believe perhaps there is a different style for the rim, early rims are not slotted from pictures on the internet but I am not sure. Any help or ideas for this. I do want to get a spare rim that fits and work, but not pay the $100 price that is posted, thanks. Any pictures would help.

A quick call to Tire Rack should fix your dilemma and ship the right one. They guarantee that it will fit.
