2005 4dr. If you try and get off the light without easing off the light the check transmission come on. If you try to pull a hill it drops speed and rpms go up the you get over the hill then it seems fine. Until you hit 60mph then it starts to shake. What's causing this?

if the cel is coming on or check trans; getting the codes read would be a good starting point.

It is a digital display (check transmission) is there a way I have seen it done in dodge p/u to have it read its own codes and show it on the display.

Do you have the 3.0 DOHC or the 3.0 OHV engine? My son had similar symptoms with his 2000 3.0 DOHC with the flashing tranny light. I pulled the codes and found that he was getting a mis-fire under load from cylinder #4. Ended up finding water in the plug area. Replaced the plugs and coils as the boots weren't keeping water out any more. All the plugs were rusted pretty good. Just #4 was arcing out at the time, but I'm sure others would be following.

obdII will need a scan tool to pull codes...flashing out codes is a pre 1996 obdI thing.
Sound advice from the UCS. Miss-fire under load would explain everything.

a misfire would set a code. p0300 is random misfire, p0301 misfire cylinder1, p0302 misfire cylinder 2....etc up to p0306. knowing the cylinder lets you isolate directly to that cylinder. without knowing the code you would have to inspect every cylinder.

If the plugs are original, they need to be changed regardless.
I just did my 2006 at 158 000 kilometers. The plug gap was 0.100". factory spec is 0.042". they were toast...probably stressed the coils.
