Amechanic told me that my bird has a mustang tranny ,possibly a GT one, Anyone know better?

It is possible you could try and transplant a mustang trans. into any car that's rear wheel drive where it bolts to the motor.
If you're really into modifying -- any part could be made to go into any car for that matter.
