AC question

AC question
I have a question for everyone.
Did the 1994 T-bird come with R12 or R134?
The reason I ask is because the low side port on the AC is leaking. It has R134 ports on it, just need to know if factory or did someone convert it to 134 before I bought it.
The guy @ Auto Zone was telling me that it had been converted, and all they sell is the 12 to 134 convert kits. I say its stock 134 and Ford used some cheap type of valve with black rubber button looking things instead of schraders.
I work @ a dealership so I can use the machine to drain the system and change out the valves if I can find the right kind.

Most of the time factory ports are a welded part of the lines whereas conversions are/have been threaded on to the factory ports. Since you are planning to evacuate the system anyway why not try to see if the ports have wrench flats on them and see if you are able to loosen one of them. That , I believe should answer your question. If you still are unsure most A/C shops should have a refrigerant identifier and they could most likely give you a definite answer.
