Ford Thunderbird Starting in the 1950s, this was a classic American sports cars, from the compact original of the 1950s, to the muscular hard top coupes of the 1980s and 1990s to the retro look of the 2003 model year, this car is, and always will be, an American classic.

I know that it makes me sound really stupid when I say it like that. I do my own mechanics on my own cars trucks and it really sucks when you have one break down and can't seem to fix it when every damn thing is controlled by a piece of silicone with a hundred wires coming from it. I like the old stuff due to the fact that when they were made it let the owners work on it adjust it to make it run better or learn from them without costing a person an arm and a leg sometimes other body parts if you get my drift.
Exactly why I want a classic my self! I love working with my hands, an figuring thins out!
Though I could have taken the "be a mechanic " route, I figured law school is better and will give me more money in the long run to build a collection. Haha

But yeah, im getting a electronic ignition.
What's the difficulty of popping those suckers on?

it ain't hard if you know how to do it and can get the wiring harness even though one could get the one that looks like it came from a GM product. but I prefer to make it look like it came with the car. and just to sure when you drop in the dist. it has to be in time with no. 1 cylinder on the comp. stroke. there's a whole bunch of little tricks to get it done right and when you get to it we'll be glad to help you out

Thanks! I'll definitely keep you two in mind.

I wanted to go to a classic car dealership and look at a few Tbirds they have laying around. Is it ever a bad Idea to look at cars months before a actual purchase?

You are asking in jest, right? We guys are hunters and gatherers. If we did not do that we would deny our own DNA and fall into deep depression needing lots of expensive pharmaceuticals and bankrupt the US healthsystem within a few short weeks!
