Default 01 Expy trannny hanging when A/C on

Hey All,
This is my first post so lets see how it goes.

I have a 2001 Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 with 97k on the ticker. Overall it has been a pleasure to own. I have had the fuel pump and some some EGR parts replaced but it was under warranty so I am not going to complain.

What I am currently experiencingis that when the air is on and the engine is warm, something is causing it to hang and lose some power off of red lights or when trying to speed up. This problem also retards the shift times hugely. I don't mean it takes more RPM, I mean it takes much much longer to get to the shift points than with the air off. I know the compressor puts drag on an engine, but even a locked up compressor wouldn't drag it like this. I guess it would be most compared to taking off with a 10K pound trailer, where it jumps out of the gate but then crawls from 10mph to whatever the desired speed is.It can also be compared to starting a manual transmission in third gear. The hesitation onlylasts for a short while and with enough pedal and will usually come back alive. When I hit the gas from a stop, it takes off like normal for about three or four seconds and then cuts back big time. With no air on in the morning it has all the power in the world, but I live in AZ and it is July so no air is suicide when I leave work around 5pm.

I first thought vehicle speed sensor was bad, but this thing doesn't have one from what I could find. I changed the Output Speed Sensor since that was the closest thing and it seemed ok momentarily but then started acting up again. I also changed the TPS and fuel filter. I have learned that there is a Turbine Shaft Speed sensor on the front of the tranny that tag teams with the OSS. Could this be bad to? Or a mass air or baro sensor? I have read a lot of people with hesitation problems needing new coils, but there is definitely not a misfireanddoesn't throw atrouble code. It does not feel like a mechanical problem as in a slip or converter problem but rather a sensor or sensorsthat can't make up their mind.

I am ready to startbolt on madness here and I justwant to make sure it is in good running order before Ibeef it up. My main fear is that once i program itthe bad sensor will get real bad and cause huge problems or break the tranny.

Any help is truly appreciated
Tony
