03 Windstar limited oil pump
Vehicle has 230,000 on the odometer, not sure if this is the original motor or not. She began making the no oil pressure tick for a few seconds at start up every once in awhile. Then she wouldn't stop, so I figured time to change the oil pump. As it stands right now, everything is apart I have a new pump and relief valve, but what gets me is that other than the drive gear with hex shaft is really hard to spin, I can not find anything wrong. All gears look fine the relief valve moves fine the drive gear on the engine looks fine. I hate to put this back together just to find it still not working.
Okay, I guess I have it figured out. The drive gear with the hex shaft is called the camshaft syncronizer and was told by Ford Parts guy that it should spin freely. So at this point I will replace and update when done.
