Question 04 f150 supercab 300k plus

hey all im a bit of a backyard mechanic and am looking for some advice on getting my 04 f150 super cab back in good condition, it has 300k plus miles and want to pass down to my son for his first car, we just did a full front end rebuild, 8 hours and a few hundred in parts, impressed myself, im moving to the rear and want to lift it a bit 2to3 inches, but wish to do it in a reasonable budget, i still use it for work and will be buying a newer one once i pass the keys to him this august, add a leaf? new leaf springs? heaver leaf springs (f250)? after that we will be attempting a rear rebuild pinion bearing, inner and outer bearings, and seals, wish use luck, i have 20 plus years as a electrician and always worked on my own cars and motorcycles, can weld, thanks in advance for all and any input,

Welcome to the site..

To lift the back you may want to just add a set of lifting blocks under the springs. 250 springs won’t fit, and adding the blocks is easier to get the lift your looking at.

300k,, original engine?, trans re worked?

Sounds like a good father and son project...

hey hayapower, yes it is an awesome father son project, he shares the love for the truck, and im happy he wants to work on it will the old man, lol, blocks may be the way we go as it would be more friendly to my wallet, thanks for the input,
yes all original, oil changes every 3k, real oil 10/30, yea i know its not the right oil, 5/20 synthetic, but why put something fake of something real, conventional seems to work for my truck anyways
the tranny slips once in awhile and sometimes she want attention, like a starter in the middle of pouring down rain, and yes i changed it in the wawa parking lot, lol, nothing major tho, most have been built on a wednsday
