Default 04 freestar fans on with engine start

I have an 2004 Freestar that all at once decided to turn on both cooling fans even though the air conditioner is not selected. This happened after i drove through some water that was about 14" deep. The van AC appears to work ok and no other problem is noted. Any ideas or suggestions?

are you saying air fans on vents are on? or the cooling fans on the radiator?

any codes? check engine light on or flashing?

unplug temp sensor at radiator to isolate that and see if it is a sensor....but it sounds like you got water in a relay perhaps...

No check engine light flashing or on steady, also I do not see a temp sensor on or near radiator. This is a 2004 Ford Freestar SEL with rear air. There is a high pressure sensor for the compressor located on the high pressure line below the radiator which probably was saturated with water due to the flood we had here in Nashville, TN last week-end. Today I removed relays 2 and 3 in the engine compartment fuse box to stop both fans from operating.
i drove about 15 miles and engine never even got to midrange between cold/hot. Temp outside was 62 deg. so not warm at all today.

Will there be a DTC for a bad temperature sensor?
