I need to know if the stock rear view mirror was auto TILT or auto TINT

I know that Lincoln first introduced the auto TINT mirror in the 88 continental.

A friend of mine is arguing that it was auto TILT in the 89 lincoln town car signature series
That I used to own.

I would also like some solid proof like a link as to the exact type of rear view mirror used in the windshield...

please help us resolve this.

I would think that since Lincoln used them in their 88 models... they would use them in their 89 ones as well...

Probably depends on who you ask as to the description..

Auto Dimming, Auto Darkening, Auto Chromatic, or by design,,, Electrochromic Automatic-Dimming Mirror..

Gentex is/was the supplier to many auto/truck manufactures of the years.. Still are..

 

AutoDim (which is the headlight dimmer, and probably not working) is the little box with the clear "eye" on the front of it that looks out the windshield, and it bolts or snaps onto the electrically dimming mirror, which was also standard (if I remember correctly). They are seperate pieces.
