Does it smell like gas (flooded)? You might have a bad engine coolant temp sensor. Need more info..like engine light, codes, throuble shoot finds. etc.

dont smell like gas no check engine light but when a sensor goes bad does it always make the check engine light come on cause the people at auto zone told me that if the check engine light does not com on then there scan tool wont show trouble codes but it sounds like it might be sensor should i just take some where else to read codes?

they only set codes if its something controlled by the computher, you could have a faulty coil , it would never pick it up on the code read , I had a 84 LTD a few weeks ago I had to replace the coil , the pick-up an the module , they all tested good on the ohms reading till you heated them up with a drop lite .

Yoo dog,
If I was a betting man, and I'm not, I'd bet the crank postion sensor is bad. A lot of problem on cars don't set the engine light. A sensor can fail within spec. cause engine to run very poorly and not set engine light. More info and testing is needed to T/S your problem. I'd hate to waste money, but if you can't troubleshoot the problem and want to give something a try, try the CPS, if its not to costly(<30-40$).
