Hello all,

trying to see if anyone else is having same issues as I am. I just got a 1999 F350 7.3 diesel with 230k miles and there is no check engine light. The only light that is on is my ABS light. It was running fine and starts up every time even on cold start but I have a loss of acceleration. Once in awhile I will get some power but then all of a sudden lose it. I am seeing black smoke and quite a bit of it. Once in awhile white smoke depending on how I adjust the bully chip (I am not familiar with, it came this way when I purchased it). I don't have a ton of money so I don't want to jus put all new parts if I could just figure out the problem. I can easily do anywhere from 0-30 maybe 40mph but after that it won't go any faster. Also, if i keep it running on idle after a few min about every 30 sec it clicks or like a vacuum click sound noise is made and then the rpm doubles and then goes back down after i press gas pedal. Please give me any ideas or if you have had the same experience. I appreciate it. It was running perfectly fine until I had to go up the mountains and then it started sputtering out and dropping in power all the way down to 0.
