Question 2000 F250 7.3 Transmission leak only in reverse

I have a 2000 F250 7.3 4 WD crew cab. It is leaking transmission fluid pretty bad whenever we go into reverse. Doesnt matter if there is a load or not, or uphill, down hill or flat ground. What could be the reason? Thanks in Advance!

Where is the fluid leaking from, can you help by pinning down the source ? It is after all a pretty big trans.

In the back of it, up top. It runs down and drips on cross bar that supports tranny, then onto the ground.

You will need to get up there with a flashlite and look at the back of the shift rail cover. The rails had a flat plug jammed in there for each of the 3 rails kinda like a freeze out plug but the size of a dime. It could be the plug came out, don't know without actually looking.

This applies only if you have a stick shift trans.
