What is the anti-theft lite doing when you try to start it?
Is it safe to assume it is an automatic trans?
Have you tried your other coded key?

There is then a problem with the PATS (anti-theft system).
Are there any aftermarket additions on the vehicle , If so try disconnecting it/them and see there is any change. Has something been added and now the vehicle will not start?

The rationality for the PATS on your vehicle is contained in the PCM. This doesn't mean the PCM is at fault , but it could be. If all the conditions are the same and the vehicle started before , it may require someone with a hi end scan tool to troubleshoot the modules. If there is a code in the PCM like P1260 another module could be causing the problem. Sorry I can't offer better suggestions.

The answer to the donor vehicle question is , don't do it !!!!!! It will nullify your present keys and computer .

Anytime any parts are changed you will either need a locksmith with the equipment and knowledge to program the new part(s) to work with your vehicle's computer(PCM) or have the dealership do it. It is called a Parameter Reset.
