Default 2007 Taurus hot versus cold

I was wondering if anyone knew why my fuel pump control module throws a CEL when the weather is warm, but a few days after the weather cools off it goes out. While the light is on(warm weather) the engine surges going uphill. When the light is off (Cold weather) it runs just fine. Thanks for any info

Many times an intermittent connection can do this. If you check the ground wire under the rear of the vehicle it might have an iffy connection. That ground connection can be anyplace under the rear.
