I want to change my fluid in my 2009 F150 automatic transmission. But I can not find where to pour the fluid. I have read my haynes manual and it refers to me to the dealer. But I know I can change this fluid myself as I have done it on all my trucks in the past. Can someone please show or tell me where this fluid needs to be poured.

Look down behind the passenger side head. it may be down lower than the valve cover.

 

These aren't easy. They have a metal plug in the trans case, right where way2old said. It sits behind the exhaust pipe, and it's a 7/8" or 22 mm wrench that will remove it. The dipstick is on the inside. When you remove the plug, the dipstick is visible.
The problem is, you have to get the fluid HOT (170 degrees of Trans. oil temp) to check, with it hot, idling, and in park. That requires about a half hour of driving, and some acrobatics to NOT burn your hand off while checking it under these conditions.
However, I have a work around that Hanky made me think of at work a while ago, when I was thinking of ways I could become perfect like him.
When you remove the dipstick, you'll see a crosshatch area that the fluid should sit in when hot. It also has pressed into the plastic: "check hot idling in park". I'm not sure about the last part, but I do know it says check hot idling. If you drop the pan, then put in 5.5 qts of Mercon LV, the fluid will come to betwixt the g in idling and the i in park. This is done with the trans cold, which gives you a few minutes before you risk permanent paralysis on the exhaust pipe; during which you can button up the plug and forget about it. It will put you in the crosshatch when it gets hot.
The hard part is trying to fill the fluid; I use a power steering flush machine, but you could probably use one of the 'plastic pumper' jugs that are sold. It will just take a bit longer.
