I have a 2013 F150 and drive long distances at 20mph. I would like the cruise control to come on at 19 to 20 mph instead of 25mph. I called my local Ford dealer and was told it cant be done. Help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

 

25 sounds about right; in the old days (about 10 years ago), it used to be 35mph.

 

25 is too fast, 20 is the speed limit. Is reprogramming the EMC cruise control section an option or transmission an option?

 

No, there are no options for a reflash to cure this,, as Ford has designed it to work at about 25 or 30; it's not a problem, it's just not what you want.
Sorry. I just can't imagine anything to do about this. I don't even think a lower gear would help.

 

Consider this,
The PCM has to take into consideration throttle position, RPM, load and vehicle speed so the cruise control system knows when to respond to maintain the selected speed .
That info is preprogrammed and not easily altered, so if you are determined enough, why don't you install a hand throttle yourself ? It's not that it can't be done, but it most likely is something you would have to do.
