Default 2020 Ford F150 Door lock failure

Hi all,

I recently traded into a ‘20 F-150 and began noticing that my drivers side door actuator was not engaging. I haven’t quite looked in there yet to maybe see what it might be but all other functions work so it cannot be a fuse.

would love any input/insight to hopefully save a fortune and diy

thanks

I have already replaced my completely failed accuator for my front passenger side at 65k, now my front driver side is failing. I probably should have purchased a 4 pack of accuators. Also to note, my center console spring snapped at 45k, which I also had to replace. To my knowledge, these parts, are an issue for F150 models leading up to 2019, but they haven't extended recalls on 2020's...yet. I have never had to replace simple convenience parts like these in any of my vehicles, which I drive til the wheels fall off! 35years of owning vehicles, my highest mileage vehicle I've pushed to 278k, my number two was 255k.

So as for the diy..I did. It requires removing the interior door panel, so if you are not comfortable doing that after watching a youtube..seek a pro.
