I have a 86 taurus 3.0 and have starting problem, it will not start with the key but if i start
it with a screw driver from the starter solenoid that is located under the hood on the driver side wheel weld it will start and the car will run. But again if i use the key the dash lights
will come but the car will not say anything, it will not turn over. Any suggestions?

 

Not sure, but I belive that those car have a switch on the colum steering under the dash,now when you turn the key it push a metal rod that activat the switch.There is some adjustment on the switch and it may have moved a bit and now it's not making the contact.
