Default 91 Bronco AC System overhaul

My compressor and clutch must be replaced. I have already read that I will need a new drier if the system is opened. What other parts should I replace at the same time ? Evaporator ? Condenser ? Where should I buy them ? Should I convert to the new style of freon or stay with R-12 ? I want to do everything possible to make the AC system work perfectly. Price is not an issue. All suggestions will be appreciated. An experienced (but not perfect)mechanic will be assisting me during the repair process at his service station. He frequently utilizes O'reillys Auto Parts, but I am not opposed to paying extra for new Motorcraft parts.

Have the system completely flushed to get rid of any particulate contaminents, especially if your compressor died the "BLACK DEATH". Replace the drier, any rubber hosesand install a new orifice. It is not manditory to convert to R134A and converted systems tend to perform poorly. The R12 is more expensive, but well worth it. Evaporator and condensor should be OK. A new condensor may be in order if it's all pitted by stone chips and such. Better to change it now than later.
