Been trying to figure out how to put new belt (for alternator) in son's probe (he has less of a clue than me!) . Hubby and I figured out where, but how? Does the other belt(I think I'm referring to the fan belt that is along side the alternator belt) have to be removed in order to install new one? Not much room under hood. We didn't have the Probe jacked up, and certainly couldn't fit under it as it has the skirt package on, but is it easier to go from the underside? Hoping someone can help me out, as the car is dead at the end of the driveway, the belt completely gone, and the boy is cruising around in MY car. Thanx

 

You may have to remove the belts that run in front of the one you need to replace to get it on. I'd have to see it to know.
