Default 98 windstar 3.8 liter runs rough at warm and stalls

98 Ford Windstar 70,000 miles

Ok when I start the motor in the morning everything is fine motor runs great and gets me to work no problems. Wait 8 - 10 hours come out of work start it up and everything is great.

Here's the problem when I go to the store and come back out 5 - 30 minutes later the motor hesitates or chugs and stalls. I'll try to give it gas to keep the motor running and it will chug real bad and stall 3 or 4 times. I'll wait 2 to 3 minutes and try it again and it will do the same, butit will run justenoughfor me to put it in drive and give it gas. It willhesitate and then pick up and everything is great. Took it to the Ford dealer and they couldfindanything wrong with it and charged me$80 bucks.

I don't believe I have any engine problems what so everbecause the motor runsgreat when it is cold and even after it warms up. Just don't shut it off and try to restart it.

I imagineI have abad sensor. What should I be looking for? Any help is appreciated.

I don't get any check engine light.

Thanks in advance,

Does it idle in neutral??? It sounds as if you have a failing IAC valve (idle Air Control), used onlyat idlein park once in gear the TPS take over. Check service manual for resistance spec and you can test the IAC.

Default 2000 Ford Windstar stalling at idle

PLEASE Help!! I recently bought a 2000 ford windstar and it cranks and runs great until it warms up then starts to sputter, buck and stall especially when at idle. I have replaced the crank position sensor and its wiring, replaced the mass air flow sensor. and the idle air control valve, and plugs and plug wires. I cant find any vacuum leaks and the fuel pressure is fine. WHAT SHOULD I DO!?????

Do you have any trouble codes?

Even if you don't have trouble codes you may be looking at the infamous isolator bolt grommets. Most should have them replaced meanwhile but yours could be the last one out there.

Also you replaced all the ignition parts............except the coil pack.
