Default !999 Crown Vic. suspension squeaks

I have a high mileage 99' Crown vic Lx 134k. Never damaged in any way and all way's maintained. Lately it has begun to squeak, for example when parked in the garage you can push down on the front or rear corners and the suspension squeaks, we live in the country a 1/2 mile off the paved county road. Our driveway is clay-gravel 1/2 mile to the garage. All tires are near new and all are wearing evenly as it should. It sounds like something needs grease but the car has no grease fittings. I am thinking possibly somewhere a bushing is worn out. Also I noticed that the car does not handle as usual. We recently replaced Tires, Breaks, Shocks and Rear Air Bags. I am thinking that maybe the Air Bag Leveling switch may be defective and causing the car to be out of balance. Have any of you folks ever experienced this, we are at a loss any advice will be appreciated.

What you might try is to have someone rock the car while you listen for where the squeak is originating. Once you pin it down to one area , now you can check from there.
Handling could involve ball joints, stabilizer bushings, even steering linkage. A lot will depend on where you find the squeak coming from.

Agreed, Fords in those model years are notorious for front suspension squeaks.

Since rubber is cheaper, most MFGs is rubber bonded to metal sleeves or studs. You probably has a rubber bushing(s) that delaminated from a sleeve or stud. This it squeaks when it rotates/flexes inside the rubber. To locate the critter, start by spraying one bushing with a good helping of silicone and bounce/flex to see if the squeak goes away. If not, go to the next one and do this for everything you can see. Swaybar bushings dry up and loose their grip and will also squeak so don't forget them as well. I just replaced the lower control arms on my 07 Focus for an irritating squeak/groan do to a delaminated bushing from a stud. Happy hunting...

My problem was front Swat Bar Links and Ball Joints. We bought new tires from Pep Boys in May 2014, they also installed two new sway bar links and alignment, The car has not driven well since. I bought the "Rotate and Balance" at an extra cost so I took the car back to them for the Rotation and Balance and ask them to check the suspension. When I picked the car up that evening I was given an estimate of $1400. to replace the Ball Joints. with their brand. I told them I would get back to them.

I took the car to my mechanic and he showed me what was wrong, which was Ball Joints and Sway Bar Links. The Sway Bar Links were worn because Pep Boys did not install the Grease Fittings, the Ball Joints 134K before failure. My mechanic said he would do the repairs for $241. which is what he charged for similar work for another customer, if I supplied the new parts. I ordered the parts from "Rock Auto" on line, total cost $211.06 + $18.00 shipping. The parts were delivered to my front door in two days, total cost $211.06 total cost $452.06 + front end alignment is necessary. I saved $950.

Glad you got it fixed at a reasonable price by somebody you can trust. I just replaced the lower control arms on my 07 Focus. $84.04 to the door for both left and right. Ford wanted $200+tax each while Autozone wanted $105+tax each. Had a 4 wheel alignment also. I hate squeaking and groaning suspensions...
