Recently I've had the plesure of correcting some nice work on my friends 94 plate 4wd aerostar that was left in rather a bad way by local spanish garage who felt vacuum pipes were not needed and only got in the way . Cut a very long story short the van will engage in reverse and only sometimes (very infrequently) D or 1&2 gears . I suspect that this may have something to do with the vacuum modulater but no fluid is leaking back up the pipe. The fluid level is too high at the moment . Would the fluid height make the differance of not engaging at all . When i collected the van it engaged all gears but the plug leads were connected up wrong and was only running on 4 cylinders also with out the transmissiom modulator pipe in place now runs very sweet but no go please any thoughts very much appreciated.
