Default air intake question.

I have a question, I am thinking about removing my filter box and instaling an after market short ram air intake. It comes with the maf adapter plate.I noted that there is a small sensor on the filter box and that the after market air induction kit does not come with one.
Has anyone had luck with this without throwing engine trouble codes?

Without the YEAR-MODEL-ENGINE, I would say that the sensor you're refering to would be your Intake Air Temperature sensor. This would need to be relocated into the tube between the filter and the throttle body. Are you going to be sucking cool outside air or hot under hood air with the system you're looking at installing?

Pulling in the HOT under hood air will reduce your horse power output, but will increase your mileage(unless your looking for performance, then the slight loss of HP will cause you to be in the throttle more to try and regain the loss of performance thus using more fuel). Pulling in cooler outside air will increase your horse power, but reduce your mileage (unless your driving easy, then the slight gain in HP will keep you from being on the throttle, thus increasing your mileage).
