Default alarm install. power lock problems

I am installing a factory Ford alarm (code alarm elite 1100) into a 1995 ford conversion van and cannot get the power locks to work with the alarm remote. The van has factory power locks. I have located the suggested wires, red and brown, behind the drivers kick panel. I have tapped direct into them with the trigger wires from the alarm. No go. I have wired two 5 pin relays as per a diagram I found on 12volt.com. No go. The alarm brain has relays built in, I can hear them click when I push the remote buttons, but I cannot get it to work as it should. I also located the two pink wires (same location) and hooked the relays to them. The remote would then operate the drivers door locks but not the rest of them and I also lost function of the door lock/unlock controls on the door. I'm at a loss here and really need some HELP!

thanks for the welcome.
no memory lock. you are correct on the pink wires but as stated, they would only power the drivers door and cutting them to add the relays stopped the rest of the locks and all switches from working.
